Great restaurant with the option to try upscale fare you might not be able to find elsewhere! They had elk and wild boar that I will definitely be trying next time. I ended up having the Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned, the Oysters A La Soul, and a Seared Red Fish on Rice with Asparagus. They do have specials and the waiter helpfully lists the price of them so you don't have to worry about appearing cheap if you ask. It's a romantic space in a basement like grotto. The stairs are kind of steep to get down to the entrance, so just be careful. The atmosphere is cozy and feels luxurious. It's definitely not an everyday option but perfect for an anniversary or birthday. I spent close to $100 on a cocktail, appetizer, and entree, just myself. Make sure you get reservations! I got mine a month out but they do fill up fast and I didn't see anything opening up in the weeks leading up.

Delicious food with a modern take on classic southern comfort cooking. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere carefully curated to be intimate. We enjoyed the cocktails with fresh twists on classic mixes. The charcuterie board has some unusual selections (candied aligator!), but don't let that put you off, everything on the board was delicious. The shrimp and grits were rich and creamy, just the right amount of savory cheese. Finish with the peanut butter pie if you have room!

The food was amazing and the waitress we had was extremely nice and professional. It was a great experience if you’re looking for a little more pricy meal with great atmosphere. We dressed semi-formal which was the right way to go.

Another winner in Savannah. Great ambience and service was professional and excellent. Make a reservation. The restaurant is located down some stairs in an old underground space. The chef is very talented and uses a lot of game in the recipes along with traditional soul food recipes.

We had a fantastic dinner at Alligator Soul Restaurant omg we have not had such good food in a while. You enter going down into a basement and as you walk in, you're greeted by elegant exposed brickwork, chandeliers, and decor. The exposed beams, drapery, and fountains in the windows caught my attention. We were seated straight away, and our server, Charlie, who made us feel right at home, made our night. He brought great conversation and told us about the food and gave us solid recommendations. His attention to detail and customer service skills were off the charts. We started the night popping bottles, and the amuse-bouche and homemade bread came out, which we did not take a photo of because we ate it so quickly that we forgot. From the perfectly tender Alligator bites to the mouth-watering bone marrow and mushroom dish, which was rich in flavor. The bone marrow had lots of bone marrow, not like some restaurants where they hand you a dried-out chicken bone and a bunch of bread. The salad came out next, and omg, Charlie split it and made it into two giant salads that were creamy and cheesy. Even the lettuce tastes good, and I don't generally eat salads. The little cheese croutons were fantastic they took the salad to the next level. Then came another bottle of bubble and the wild boar. The wild boar was absolutely divine and melted off the bone. There was a point where I was like, screw the fork and knife, and ate it like boar on a stick!. We were so stuffed but could not resist, then we tried their creamy mashed potatoes that were fluffy and creamy and so buttery that I'm not sure what type of black magic the chef pulled off, but those were not potatoes. Finally, I worked up the strength to try the greens. These were the best greens I have ever had. They were fresh and packed with flavors. These were absolutely incredible even the texture was good. It paired perfectly with the boar. We ended the night with a digestiff and then Charlie brought us some special holiday mulled wine the chef made. Thank you, Charlie, we will be back again! We had a fantastic time. #alligatorsoulrestaurant #savannahgeorgia #yelpelite #alligatorsoul

Great from the brim we walked in until the time we walked out. We did not have a reservation but they accommodated us anyway. The Bartender with the Mohawk is amazing. The food was top of the line. It was so good we forgot to take more pictures. But this Gumbo is packed with flavor.
